How to arrive
The store’s distinctive architectural design features an eye-catching mural of the iconic Yiayia. Our goal was to bring the essence of Yiayia back to the “Frangomahalas” [French Quarter], a neighborhood steeped in history that was known for its cosmopolitan charm during its peak in the 19th century.
By establishing Yiayia’s presence in this distinctive area, our brand’s story becomes linked to the rich cultural heritage of Thessaloniki, inviting visitors to share in this heartwarming experience.
The Yiayia and Friends flagship store is an integral part of the Beetroot Universe. The Beetroot Design Studio headquarters is a creative hub that houses not only our store but also the Beetroot Gallery, Beetroot Café and Design Store, and Poster restaurant. All these activities share the same building block, creating an inspiring atmosphere where art, design, gastronomy, and culture come together. This vibrant and dynamic environment encourages interaction, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas, making the Beetroot Universe a truly engaging and memorable experience for visitors.
